Why this is dangerous
Aspirin can irritate the stomach, interfere with clotting, and cause acid-base problems in pets.
Go to ER immediately if
Go urgently for repeated vomiting, breathing trouble, collapse, major lethargy, neurologic signs, or significant eye/oral burns.
What not to do
Do not wait for severe signs before calling. Do not induce vomiting unless your veterinarian advises it.
Prevention
Store all human medicines and supplements in closed cabinets, use pill organizers only in pet-inaccessible places, and never give a human medication unless your vet prescribed it.
